Forever and Always at NY’s The Always All Ways In

“I love you always, and in all ways.” The inscription was found on a card as Cat Greenleaf snooped around at her in-law’s place. Her husband’s mother had signed it to his father, and while Cat doesn’t endorse snooping as a practice, this particular expedition yielded both a touching insight into her new family and also the motto that now defines her home. One of no judgements, and one where you can come however you are, whenever you want.These days the phrase holds even more clout for Cat.At the end of 2015 Cat and her husband, both creative, entrepreneurial types from New York, purchased a beautiful piece of land in the Catskills they have since turned into a retreat. Aptly named The Always All Ways In, it’s a place they encourage their guests to use however they want in order to tell their own story. “We want them to infuse it with their own dreams and ideas for a perfect event. Our job is to help it play out just as they’d like. Every event is as unique as its hosts,” says Cat.Consisting of 10 acres of mountainside retreat, a 1,500 square foot barn, a 3 bedroom house, 2 Airstreams and ample camping spaces, they have totally renovated the space with the help and vision of Young Song. The designer shared the couple’s commitment to utilizing as much of the original property as possible. They repurposed, recycled and reimagined a world of things that has since turned into art. Take the sled lights for example. Cat excitedly shares, “Young rescued a pair of antique toboggans from a trash heap bound for the Roxbury Transfer Station, wired them with filament light bulbs for a vintage feel and then hung them from the rafters with chains we found in the garage. They’re unexpected and exceptional.”From the decked out 1974 Airstream, to the life-sized chess set, to the 1969 Ford F-150 pickup they found on Craigslist and made into a flowerpot, the AAWI is infused with a signature sense of space and style.And people are loving it.The property is used for events of all kinds, from family reunions to campfire concerts to the wedding of your dreams, and the friendly and personable hosts love the opportunity it gives them to connect with their guests.Cat and her husband genuinely want their guests to feel at home.
